What It Is
Disney Junior Scrabble features a double-sided game board for two different ways to play. Younger players can start with the Beginner Game, using the gameboard side with letters and pictures of Disney Junior characters on the squares. Each player receives seven tiles and takes turns playing up to two letter tiles on the gameboard. You may only play a tile if it matches a letter that's on the board, and you must cover the letters of a word in correct spelling order. Players score one point for each word they complete by covering the last letter of that word. When all the words have been completed, the game is over, and the player with the most points wins.
The other side of the board allows older kids to play classic Scrabble. All players draw seven tiles and take turns using their tiles to form words on the board. At the end of each turn, you score the total value of all letters in every new word you formed. The score value is on the tile. If you placed a tile on one of the red, blue, green, or orange spaces, you might double or triple your word or letter score. The game ends when all letters have been drawn and one player uses his or her last letter or when all players pass their turn. The player with the highest score wins.
Disney Junior Scrabble comes with a gameboard, 100 letter tiles, four tile racks, and a letter tile pouch. The game is for two to four players.
Is It Fun?
Disney Junior Scrabble is really two games in one. We like that preschoolers can start off playing the easier letter-matching game, and then progress to the classic Scrabble game as they get older and become more advanced spellers. This is a fun themed version of Scrabble that will appeal to Disney Junior fans.
