What It Is

Dye up to 21 projects with the Tulip One-Step Spray Dye Kit. This kit comes with seven spray-top bottles containing dye, six protective gloves, 30 rubber bands, and project ideas. You will need to provide your own T-shirt, bag, etc., as well as plastic wrap.

To start, add warm water to the dye bottles and shake until the dye is completely dissolved. The project ideas booklet shows three different ways to use the dye to create different tie-dye effects with wet T-shirts or create shapes by spraying over tape, paper, and other objects on dry T-shirts. Depending on what project you choose, follow the instructions and spray the dye onto the fabric.

Cover the dyed fabric with plastic wrap, and let it sit for six to eight hours. Rinse well with water until excess dye is removed. Then wash your project in the washing machine with hot water and a small amount of laundry soap. Then dry in the dryer.

Is It Fun?

The Tulip One-Step Spray Dye Kit does more than just tie-dye. We like that kids can also create shapes and designs on their fabric projects. Kids will love getting creative and making colorful shirts, bags, and other fabric accessories. And because this kit can tie-dye up to 21 projects, it's a great birthday party activity.

Who It’s For

The Tulip One-Step Spray Dye Kit is not age-graded. Young children may use this product as long as they have adult supervision.

We think that kids ages 6 and up should be able to work the spray bottles. However, slightly older kids will be able to plan out the projects to get better results.

What To Be Aware Of

It is recommended that your tie-dye project be made of a natural fiber fabric, such as wool, rayon, cotton, viscose, or silk, and be in a light color.

Because this can be a messy project, make sure to cover your work surface and wear old clothes that you don't mind getting messy.
