What It Is
Shelby's Snack Shack Game is a dog-themed counting "bone-anaza" game. Shelby the dog has buried bones in the sand and needs help collecting them. Scatter the bones on the beach in the bottom of the box. Then players take turns spinning the red spinner. If it lands on a bone, kids spin the blue spinner to find out how many bones they get to collect. Then they use the Shelby Squeezer to pick up and place that number of bones into their bowl.
If you spin a seagull, you'll then spin the blue spinner to see how many bones the seagull steals from you. Put that number of bones from your bowl back on the beach.
If you spin a hungry pug, spin the blue spinner, and use the Shelby Squeezer to steal that number of bones from another player or several players.
If you spin a busy pug, you must be too busy chewing on a flip flop to take your turn, so pass the Shelby Squeezer to the next player and lose a turn.
When all the bones have been collected, the player with the most bones wins.
The game comes with a Shelby Squeezer, 40 bones, four bowls, a double spinner, and instructions. It is for two to four players.
Is It Fun?
This game is so cute and fun for young kids to play. The different options on the spinner keep the game lively and constantly changing. Using the Shelby Squeezer helps kids with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. This is also a fun way to help kids with numbers and counting. We also like that the game box becomes the game board and makes it easy to keep all the pieces contained.
