What It Is
The classic game of "Red Light, Green Light" gets a Hello Kitty spin with the Hello Kitty Red Light, Pink Light Game. The object of the game is to be the first player to reach the finish space. The game includes a game board, four rubber Hello Kitty movers, a bow decoder, a traffic light tile box, 15 traffic light tiles, 16 pink light tiles, and a sand timer.
To start, spread out the 16 pink light tiles in an area across the room or even in another room. Then, players take turns revealing traffic light tiles to determine how they will move along the board. If your traffic light is red, you don't move. If it's green, advance your mover the number of spaces shown on the green light. If your traffic light has three pink lights, turn over the sand timer and hurry to where the pink light tiles are. Take one tile and bring it back to the game board. Use the bow decoder to reveal what number is on the tile, and advance your mover that number of spaces. If the sand timer has not run out, continue retrieving pink tiles and advancing your mover until time is up.
Beware of spaces with arrow paths. If you land on one, you'll have to follow the path forward, which can help you, or backward, which can keep you from the finish space.
Is It Fun?
This is a cute and easy-to-learn game for young kids. Retrieving the pink light tiles gets kids active as they play the game. Young Hello Kitty fans will like the whimsical illustrations on the game board as well as the "magical" bow decoder.
