Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flying Attack is a skill-and-action game where players send the turtles flying to knock Shredder's Foot Clan off the teetering tower. Kids can also play as Shredder, racing to get the ninjas to the top of the tower to win.
The game comes with one tower (in 12 parts), 14 platforms, a catapult, 12 Foot Clan movers, 12 Foot Clan mover bases, four turtle movers, four turtle mover bases, 40 cards, and instructions. After you've assembled the tower, you can choose one of two ways to play. The basic game is Target Practice, and the object is to knock down the most Foot Clan Ninjas. Place four ninjas on the tower, one on each level. Then players take turns launching their turtle mover toward the tower. If you knock off any ninjas, keep them in front of you. If your turtle hits the tower and stays on the tower, you get to remove your turtle and take another shot. After your last shot, replace any ninjas knocked off the tower with new ones. Then it's the next players turn. When there aren't enough ninjas left to have four on the tower, the game is over. The player with the most ninjas wins.
There is also a more advanced game called Shredder vs. Turtles. One player is Shredder, and if Shredder finds all six Device Parts, he wins. But if the other players, the turtles, capture seven Foot Clan Ninjas, the turtles win. This game involves the use of the Shredder Cards. To play, Shredder takes the first turn, and then each turtle player takes a turn. Shredder must play one Shredder card from his hand. There are movement cards that show where Shredder can move the Foot Clan Ninjas. Ninja Trick Cards give Shredder special powers. Device Parts Cards are what Shredder is trying to collect six of to win. On the turtle players' turns, they attempt to launch their turtles at the tower to knock off and capture the ninjas. Each player gets one shot.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flying Attack is for two to five players.
This is a fun skill-and-action game that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will enjoy. We like that there are two ways to play, giving older and more skilled players a more advanced game option. (Wonder Forge recommends that first-time players play the basic game first.) It does take some practice and skill to launch the turtles so that they knock off the ninjas, and, of course, you're not going to knock down ninjas each time you launch. But that's all part of the fun and gameplay. And playing as Shredder will definitely be fun for kids who want to take a turn at being the bad guy.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flying Attack is for ages 5 and up.
It took us eight minutes to assemble the tower. Unless you keep the tower assembled in between games, you'll have to spend some time putting it together before each time you play.
