What It Is
With National Geographic Little Kids Ocean Counting, kids will practice counting from 1–10 while discovering the deep blue ocean and the creatures that live there. This 32-page hardcover book, written by Janet Lawler and featuring photographs by Brian Skerry, takes kids on a wonderful underwater adventure. Each of the colorful and vibrant pages is filled with information about the ocean animals. For example, the hammerhead shark can tan from the sun's rays. At the back of the book there is a fact sheet for all the animals with information about where they live, how big they are, what kind of food they eat, who their predators are, and how many babies they have. There is also a map of the world with a few extra counting challenges for kids to tackle. A glossary helps kids expand their vocabulary, and tips for how to get more information help jumpstart further discovery.
Is It Fun?
This is a great educational book that will make learning lots of fun. Young kids will love seeing pictures of these intriguing animals and learning about them all while practicing their counting skills. The information is not overwhelming and is just enough to keep kids asking questions for days.
