What It Is

The Passover Lamb is about young Miriam who lives on a farm. She looks forward to the Passover seder at her grandparents house every year. On the afternoon of the seder, Miriam and her parents discover that one of their sheep had triplets. Unfortunately, the mother sheep wants nothing to do with the third sheep, and Miriam’s father insists that they stay home to care for the lamb. Miriam is crushed because it’s her turn this year to ask the traditional Four Questions. Miriam comes up with a clever and sweet way to ensure the lamb is cared for while they are at Grandma’s house. She packs a bottle and carries the lamb along in a basket!

Is It Fun?

This is a tender holiday tale that actually happened on the author’s own farm. While the story takes place during Passover, it’s not a lesson about the holiday. But, it is a sweet story with soft, colorful illustrations, and can be enjoyed by anyone of any faith.

Who It’s For

Children aged four years and older of any faith will enjoy this story.

What To Be Aware Of

Those looking for an explanation of the Passover holiday for their children will need to look for a different title.
