What It Is
The Pulsar Powerballs kit is part of The Orb Factory's Curiosity Kits line. With this kit, kids can make up to five super-high bounce powerballs that light up. The kit comes with a large powerball mold, a small powerball mold, two lights, eight bags of colorful crystals, three resealable storage bags, and illustrated instructions.
First, you place the light on the three pins on one half of the large mold. Snap together the older side of the mold to secure the light. Pour the crystals into the mold, tapping gently until the mold is filled. Submerge the mold in a cup of water for 90 seconds. Remove the mold from water and let it sit for three minutes. Remove the ball from the mold by pulling the mold halves in opposite directions. Let the ball air-dry for five to 10 minutes or until it is less sticky. Then you're ready to bounce the ball. When you bounce it, it lights up.
Is It Fun?
Make the Pulsar Powerballs is a pretty easy activity that will probably take you 15 minutes, and that includes letting the balls soak and dry. Kids will like being able to make their own colorful bouncy balls, and watching the powerballs light up when you bounce them is pretty cool.
Who It’s For
Pulsar Powerballs is for ages 6–13.
What To Be Aware Of
Store your powerballs in resealable bags when not in use.
The box says that these are "super-high bounce powerballs." The harder you throw the ball against the ground, the higher it will bounce.
