What It Is
Instead of spending time sewing a costume or searching through stores for a costume, parents can purchase a limited-edition Halloween costume crate from Kiwi Crate. The Flying Fairy and Superhero costume crates let kids make and design their own costumes.
The Flying Fairy costume crate includes the materials and inspiration needed to create a fairy wand, skirt, and wings. Kids use colorful ribbon, sparkly tape, and glittery, sticky foam shapes to design their own wand. To make the fairy skirt, kids weave together bright strips of fabric with elastic ribbon.
The Superhero costume crate comes with all the materials kids need to decorate a satin cape with sticky bright felt shapes. Kids can also design and color a mask with metallic markers.
Each Halloween Crate is sold separately.
Is It Fun?
Kids will like being able to make and decorate their own Halloween costumes with the Halloween Crates. These crates are a great Halloween activity, and the costumes can be worn on Halloween or for dress-up around the house. These kits might inspire kids to want to make more of their own costumes for dress-up play.
Who It’s For
The Halloween Crates are for ages 3–7.
What To Be Aware Of
The Kiwi Crate Halloween Crates are available online in Kiwi Crate's Celebration Shop: kiwicrate.com/shop/
Parents will most likely have to assist kids in making the costumes in order to achieve the best results.
Kiwi Crate also has a subscription service. For $19.95 a month, the company will send your child a crate filled with themed activities that kids can put together themselves and play with. You don't need to subscribe to order the Halloween Crates.
