What It Is
If you're an Angry Birds fan looking for a new way to decorate your pumpkin for Halloween, then you'll like the Angry Birds Pumpkin Push-Ins. Just push the plastic parts into a nine-inch pumpkin to create a familiar Angry Birds pumpkin character, such as the King Pig and the Red Bird. Each is sold separately.
Is It Fun?
The Angry Birds Pumpkin Push-Ins are really cute. It seems designed for kids who want to have a terrific, themed, finished look to their pumpkin. And it seems ideal for parents who may not want their kids handling cutting tools.
Who It’s For
Angry Birds Pumpkin Push-Ins are for ages 2 and up. Because it is so hard to push in the body parts, this is definitely not something a 2-year-old could do. Young children will need mom and dad to put the pieces on the pumpkin, especially if carving holes is involved.
What To Be Aware Of
As noted, even though it seems that no carving is involved, we found it very difficult to simply push in the body parts. We had to carve tiny holes or at least stab the pumpkin with a sharp tool where we wanted the body parts to go before we were able to get the body parts pushed into the pumpkin.
Parents definitely need to be involved, and that can be frustrating for kids who want to feel like they're doing this themselves.
This may seem like a toy item, but it's really more for decoration. If you want your child to be able to play with the Angry Birds Pumpkin Push-Ins character by mixing and matching where the body parts go, you'll need to choose a small and lightweight pumpkin so that your preschooler will be able to lift the pumpkin and move it around.
