What It Is
Farmville, the hit online game from Zynga, has now become a card game. The Farmville Animal Games Old Maid comes in a Rockstar Cow-shaped zippered pouch. There are 37 animal cards, including the Old Maid card, or in the case of this game, Old Moo. Players mix up the animal cards. All the cards get dealt to the players. (The cards do not divide evenly among all players.) The object is to collect the most pairs of matching animal cards. To start, players look at the cards they've been dealt. If they find any matching pairs, they place those pairs face-up in front of them. The player with the Old Moo card has to hope that another player takes it from him. Players take turns taking cards, without looking, from the player on their left. If you draw a match, lay down those cards. Then give your best impression of that animal. Now it's the next player's turn. If you didn't draw a match, nothing happens, and it's the next player's turn. Keep playing until one player runs out of cards. The player who ends up with Old Moo has to make his or her best mooing sound. Farmville Animal Games Old Maid is for two to four players.
The purchase of this game comes with unique code for parents to redeem 20 Farm Cash of in-game currency for use in Zynga's Farmville online game.
Is It Fun?
This game is classic Old Maid, which is fun to play, but we had some issues with the game. If you're playing with four players, you're going to be holding either nine or 10 cards. With fewer players, you'll be holding more cards. These cards are small and a little awkward for an adult hand to hold, so young kids may have difficulty holding such a high number of cards. Also, when you fan out all the cards, it's hard to see the animals on the cards.
Who It’s For
