What It Is

The Greatest Day Ever! Game is a board and card game about matching. The object is to be the first player to match five playing cards with any combination of eight friends and presents.

Each player starts with five playing cards, one Friends card, and one Presents card. Players take turns rolling the die to move around the board. If you land on a Pick space, pick the top playing card from the pile of playing cards and discard any card you don't need from your hand. The Pass space means that all players must pass any one of their cards to the player to their right. When you land on Help!, you get to ask all players for any friend or present you need. If you land on New, you get to pick a player (including yourself) to pick a new playing card. The Dig! space means that you can dig through the discard pile to find the playing card you need. The first player to match their five cards with any combination of their eight friends and presents yells "This is the greatest day ever!" and wins the game.

The Greatest Day Ever! Game comes with a gameboard, 40 playing cards, 15 Friends cards, 15 Presents cards, eight card stands, four game pieces, a die, rules, and a book. The game is for two to four players.

Is It Fun?

The Greatest Day Ever! Game is essentially a matching rummy game with a board. Adding the variations and randomness of the board makes it a little bit more interesting and challenging.

Who It’s For

The Greatest Day Ever! Game is for ages 5 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

While finding the matches is fun, there are too many rules for younger children to remember, which makes the game complicated. And some of the pictures on the cards are a little sophisticated for a 5 year old to match. This is not a game that you can just jump in and start playing. Parents might need to adjust the rules and create their own version of the game if playing with younger kids.

You can choose to play a longer version of the game by making the game objective be the first player to win two rounds or the first player to reach a certain number of points.
