What It Is

The characters from Monster High are starring in their first DVD movie, Monster High Ghouls Rule. The premise of the movie is that for Halloween, the characters have gone into their parents' closets and gotten old-fashioned but high fashion clothes to wear as Halloween costumes. Each outfit pays homage to the girls' monster heritages. The dolls in the line include Frankie Stein in a lightning bolt/Bride of Frankenstein costume, Draculaura in a pink and black dress with large and intricately detailed wings, Clawdeen Wolf in a cheetah-inspired furry catsuit, and Cleo de Nile in lots of teal, black, and gold. The dolls come with Halloween party accessories, hairbrushes, and doll stands. Each doll is sold separately.

Is It Fun?

The designs of the Ghouls Rule costumes are beautiful. For those with a knowledge of fashion history, you can't avoid seeing the influence of a lot of famous designers in these very contemporary but very classic and highly stylish outfits. While these will appeal to kids who love to play with the Monster High dolls, they're going to be hot collectibles as well for adults who appreciate the fashion and the fun of Monster High.

Who It’s For

The Monster High Ghouls Rule collection is for Monster High fans and collectors ages 6 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Monster High Ghouls Rule will be on DVD this fall.

In addition to being gorgeous, these dolls and their storyline also have a message for kids: Everyone is different, and those differences should be celebrated. Delivering that message through the monster theme with style and wit has certainly contributed to the popularity of Monster High.
