What It Is
Camp is a family trivia game that brings the feeling of the great outdoors into your living room. From the level one Tenderfoot to the level four Nature Enthusiast, Camp is designed to challenge the knowledge of every member of the family. Each game card includes trivia questions divided into four levels based on difficulty. Level one questions, the easiest, are primarily identification of animals and geography. Each question level increases in difficulty with everything from migrational habits of birds to safety rules while ice fishing. (The idea is to have the youngest players answer the easy questions and older players answer the harder questions. Players can choose what question levels they want to answer.)
To play, each person chooses their piece and places it on a seat around the campfire on the gameboard. During their turn, players draw a card and attempt to answer the trivia question that corresponds with their skill level. If the correct answer is given, the player rolls again. If not, the next player takes a turn as they race around the board to be the first to arrive back in camp.
A picture of a compass can be found on some of the Camp question cards. If a player answers one of these questions correctly, that player is awarded the compass card. The owner of the compass card may take the shortcut to camp.
Also, if a player lands on a Camp Clubhouse symbol, that player immediately goes to the Camp Clubhouse and reads a Fun Fact card out loud. That completes that player's turn.
Camp includes a game board, 199 game cards (400 questions and 99 fun facts), a sleeping bag-shaped answer decoder, eight game characters, a die, 16 level cards, and a compass card. The game is for two to eight players.
Is It Fun?
With four levels of questions, Camp will challenge a 6-year-old and a 68-year-old. It makes the game exciting and engaging to players of all ages and knowledge levels. Camp will primarily appeal to families with an interest in camping and nature, but it can also be entertaining for fans of trivia games.
Who It’s For
Camp is for ages 4 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
Reading the Fun Facts cards can be interesting, but it isn't a vital part of the game. You can omit that part of the game if you want.
The Camp board game can be purchased at Bass Pro Shop, Cabela's, and Books-A-Million stores, as well as specialty retailers nationwide.
