What It Is

Blasters in the Nerf Vortex line shoot plastic discs and uses something Hasbro calls XLR Technology, or extra long-range disc technology, that hurls discs super long distances, as compared to foam dart blasters.

The Nerf Vortex Lumitron is a glow-in-the-dark pump-action blaster. It includes a 10-disc clip and 10 discs. Place the 10 discs into the disc chamber. Then turn on the light that's built into the chamber. The light causes the discs to glow when they are fired. The Lumitron can send the discs flying up to 60 feet.

The blaster also features the Nerf Tactical Rail system, which allows players to attach other accessories from other Nerf lines, which are sold separately.

Is It Fun?

Kids love blasters of all kinds, and the disc-shaped ammo is a recent introduction in the Nerf line. When we played with this, we were really impressed by the distance these discs shot. We were able to shoot the discs about 50 feet. What distinguishes this blaster is the glow-in-the-dark feature, which means kids can create all kinds of games indoors in the dark or outside after the sun goes down.

Who It’s For

The Nerf Vortex Lumitron blaster is for ages 8 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Four AA batteries are required but not included.

Only use the discs designed for the Vortex blasters. Don't aim the discs at people's faces or eyes.

Children should be supervised if they are playing outdoors after dark.
