What It Is
Mario Party 9 is the latest game in the popular Mario Party series of games for the Nintendo Wii. Like the eight games before it, #9 turns your TV into a digital board game with minigame challenges spread across a game board.
Is It Fun?
Players choose a Nintendo character from the line-up that includes Mario, Luigi, Wario, Yoshi, Peach, and more as his or her game piece. Players will then work together to gather as many Mini Stars as possible as they travel across a game board in a vehicle. Each player takes a turn as the captain of the vehicle when they roll the dice and try to reach the goal at the end of the board. Along the way, players will be thrown into some hilarious minigames that require players to work together or compete against one another.
Who It’s For
This is a perfect game for the entire family. Little gamers and gaming grandparents will have a blast playing together in this goofy and fun game. Kids as young as three will have no problem playing as long as they are with another player who can read.
What To Be Aware Of
MP 9 has a single player mode that is fun, but this game is really designed to be played by groups in a party setting. Up to four people can play together, and everyone selects their own Nintendo character as a game piece.
There are multiple game boards, and each board has multiple paths to reach the goal. Additionally there are 80 minigames scattered around the boards, so no two games will play out the same, which allows for tons of Replayability.
