What It Is

Straight from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope comes the LEGO Star Wars Droid Escape building set. This 137-piece set lets kids recreate the scene when C-3PO and R2-D2 hijack an escape pod from Princess Leia's ship and land in the desert of the planet Tatooine. Carrying the secret plans to the Death Star, the droids must avoid being captured by the Imperial Sandtroopers and find their way to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kids will build a swoop bike for the Sandtroopers and an escape pod with a detachable cover that reveals space inside for C-3PO and R2-D2 to sit. It also comes with two blasters and four minifigures: two newly designed Sandtroopers, R2-D2, and a newly designed C-3PO figure.

Is It Fun?

Fans of Star Wars and of the LEGO Star Wars sets will appreciate the newly designed C-3PO and Sandtrooper minifigures, which have great detail, including bits of sand painted on the Sandtrooper's uniforms. This building set is a great way for kids and adult builders to bring a favorite movie moment to life and create new adventures for everyone's favorite droids.

Who It’s For

The LEGO Star Wars Droid Escape is for ages 7–12, but adult fans might want to add this building set to their collections.

The new minifigures will make this particularly appealing to collectors.

What To Be Aware Of

It took us less than 30 minutes to put this set together. However, even if it takes you or your child longer than that, remember that part of the fun of LEGO is in the building.

The pieces come in two separate bags. The assembly booklet includes step-by-step instructions on how to build using the first bag and then using the second bag. Don't mix the pieces from the two bags together or building may be more confusing.
