What It Is
What It Is
The Super Sorting Pie is a pretend fruit pie that helps children with sorting, counting, and color recognition. Lift off the top of the pie to uncover lots of tactile play items inside. There are 60 pieces of colored fruit play pieces (apples, apricots, oranges, bananas, grapes, plums, and grapefruits), a removable divider, three double-sided sorting cards, two jumbo tweezers, and an activity guide. The sorting cards can be placed underneath the pie (just lift up the divider to put down a sorting card) to help kids sort the fruit pieces by color, number, or shape. Using the tweezers to pick up and move the fruit pieces reinforces fine motor skills. A variety of other ways for children and parents to play and learn together are detailed in the included activity guide. When playtime is done, all of the pieces store inside the pie.
Why It’s Fun
This cute toy is a great introduction to early math skills. Preschoolers will like the bright colors of the fruit pieces and playing different games with the pie. The pie is also a great pretend play item for kids who want to pretend to be a baker.
Who It’s For
The Super Sorting Pie is for ages 3—6.
What to Be Aware of
The fruit pieces are small and may resemble candy to young children, especially those under the age of 3. Keep an eye out to make sure that younger children don't get a hold of the fruit pieces and try to eat them.
