What It Is

What It Is

The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket is a 14-piece picnic set that lets kids engage in creative play while ostensibly exploring learning preschool basics. Push the butterfly and the basket comes to life with more than 30 audio responses and songs. In Learning Mode, kids explore shapes, manners, opposites, sharing, and colors as they play. In Music Mode, kids listen to songs, instrumental music, and more. The play food pieces allow kids to sort the food into shapes or match them to the plates. The basket also helps kids develop motor skills as they empty and fill the basket, stack the cups, and match the foods into the plate by shape. Everything stores inside the basket, and the carry handle makes it a great toy to take anywhere. The set includes six food items, two plates, two forks, two cups, a blanket, and the basket.

Why It’s Fun

The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket is designed to inspire imaginations while encouraging new skills. Kids will love the bright colors and cheerful songs and phrases. They can pretend they're on a picnic by themselves or sharing the fun with a friend.

Who It’s For

The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket is for ages 6—36 months. At 6 months, kids will be more into the put-and-take play, but as they get older, they'll be able to do the more sophisticated learning and exploration (shape matching, color recognition) that this toy promotes.

What to Be Aware of

The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket has two volume settings.

There's nothing really unique about the purported educational nature of this toy. For concepts such as "sharing," parent or caregiver involvement is necessary to establish and reinforce the concept with kids. Kids will have more fun with the picnic theme and the colorful pieces.
