Box Office, Ouija and Wick Win Weekend

The Top 2 spots on the box office list went to the weekend’s two new releases, Ouija and John Wick. Ouija, the low-budget, supernatural thriller, opened in #1 with $20 million. John Wick, Keanu Reeves new action thriller, took in $14.2 million in it’s debut. According to RottenTomatoes.com, Wick is the first Keanu Reeves movie to make it to the Top 2 in six years. Last week’s #1 movie, Fury, slipped down to #3.

This weekend was the third in a row that saw no movies in The Top 10 with full-scale toy lines. The last movie was Guardians of the Galaxy, which was still in The Top 10 for the first weekend of the month, but left after that. This trend should change on November 7, when Big Hero 6, an animated, action-packed comedy-adventure, opens.

Here is The Top 10 for the weekend of October 24 – 26, 2014:

1. Ouija ($20.0M)
2. John Wick ($14.2M)
3. Fury ($13.0M)
4. Gone Girl ($11.1M)
