Box Office: 3 Days, Pompeii Don’t Stack up Against LEGO

For a third weekend in a row, The LEGO Movie easily held the #1 spot on the box office list. The movie had another great weekend, taking in $31.4 million for a total to date of $183.2 million. Warner Bros., announced a sequel is in the works and is eyeing Memorial Day of 2017 for release.

You can check out reviews of the LEGO toys for the movie that are in stores now, on our The Lego Movie page, here.

The weekend’s two new releases, 3 Days To Kill and Pompeii, didn’t even come close to breaking LEGO’s grip. Even if you combine the two movies box office hauls ($12.3 million and $10 million, respectively) LEGO comes out on top. I was one of the few people in the audience for Pompeii over the weekend and thought the movie was enjoyable but not great. You can read my review on my personal blog, here.
