Game Preview, Tomodachi Life from Nintendo

Earlier this week, I met with Nintendo for a hands-on demo of a new game coming out this Summer for the 3DS. The game is Tomodachi Life and it’s going to completely change the way we play with our Miis.

In the game, you create Miis, but these Miis are far more customizable than the Miis we have been creating and playing with since the launch of the Wii. In addition to tons of facial customization options, TomoDachi allows you to create and customize your Miis’ clothing, voices and personalities.

You can create up to 100 Miis, and here is where the game gets really fun–all of your Miis live in an apartment building where they interact with each other and wait for you to visit. The Miis literally live in the game, even when you aren’t playing. You can check in on any of your Miis in their customizable apartments whenever you want and you never know what they will be doing when you drop by. When you visit, you interact with the Miis through various tasks and games. Keep your Miis happy and you are rewarded with coins that can be used to purchase items (like outfits) for your Miis.

The game also includes social media integration and will allow you to take screen grabs then share to Facebook, Twitter, etc. That means you can create Miis of your friends, dress them in funny outfits and then post a picture of them doing something zany on Facebook.

Tomodachi Life will be available on June 6 (2014). The game will be rated E for Everyone and playable on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.

We will have a full review on TTPM when the game is available. In the meantime, follow me on Twitter, , for more gaming news.
