The Nerf Zombie Strike Fusefire is a five-disc blaster that adds an extra element of fun in your imaginative zombie hunt—glow-in-the-dark discs. To load, push the discs into the slot on the back. If you're playing in the dark, switch on the light to charge up the discs. The longer you let them charge up, the brighter they'll be. To fire, pull back on the handle and pull the trigger. The discs go about 25 feet. There's storage on the front for five additional discs (sold separately) so you can reload on the run. It also has the Nerf Tactical Rail System on the top, which allows you to attach other accessories, sold separately.
We really like the oversized design and the excellent balance of this blaster that makes it really satisfying to shoot. This is well-designed and lots of fun, even if you don't have any zombies you need to obliterate.
The Nerf Zombie Strike Fusefire is for ages 8 and up.
The blaster takes three AAA batteries, which are not included.
The glow is really cool, but it's not that bright. However, it's bright enough to make the discs easy to find if you're playing in the dark, inside or outside. When you load the discs, you'll want to be sure to push the last disc all the way in. If you don't, the blaster is likely to jam. To clear a jam, get a long object and push the disc all the way in. It should work easily after that.
There is also an update to the Nerf app to include zombie theming, but that looks mostly like new skins on the viewfinder.
