- We recommend this product for ages 12 and up
What It Is
The Call of Duty: Light Armor Firebase from MEGA Bloks is 514-piece set based on the video game, Call of Duty, which builds a Combat Utility Transport vehicle, a camouflaged Sandbag Firebase and three poseable figures. The figures are Alex Mason and two soldiers.
Like other sets in MEGA Blok's Call of Duty Collector series, this is a highly detailed set that looks more like a model than a construction toy. While it looks like a model, it can be fun to play with as a toy, thanks to all the details and accessories. The vehicle has tires that really spin, a rotating machine gun turret, a rear gun, mesh side caging and straps on the front of the vehicle.
The Sandbag Firebase has a fabric camouflage canopy and sand bag, bunker-style walls. It's a perfect small base for posing and playing with the figures in. The figures also have some great details like removable combat vests with even smaller removable items and a weapon. There are over 30 highly detailed accessories and weapons including binoculars, walkie talkies, a shovel, riot shield and combat knives. All of the smaller accessories can be stored in the trunk, which is also included.
Is It Fun?
For fans of Call of Duty and construction play, this is a terrific set that allows players to engage with the storyline and immense themselves imaginatively into the world of the game. For these individuals, this is an outstanding complement to the video game experience.
Who It’s For
This set is intended for Call of Duty fans, ages 12 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
This set is part of MEGA Bloks' Call of Duty Collector Construction Sets line. The directions are good and should take most people around two-and-a-half hours to complete.
One thing that's a little odd about this set is the vehicles' rubber band straps going from the hood to the windshield frame. It's a really cool looking detail but the straps don't seem to have enough slack and pull the windshield forward a bit.
