What It Is
The Dora the Explorer Dial & Learn Phone is a roleplay toy that's also educational as it introduces kids to letters, numbers, and memory skills. This toy phone features the actual voice of Dora the Explorer, and there's a plastic animated Dora character that moves as you play. There are four different games and activities. Free Play allows kids to pretend they're calling their favorite characters. Letter Time teaches letters and the sounds they make. Number Quest teaches numbers, counting, and sequences. Call My Friends also teaches numbers. The toy also has a music button that plays different melodies, and there's a volume control with two noise levels underneath the toy.
Is It Fun?
Dora fans will enjoy pretending to call their favorite characters with this toy phone. Parents will like the educational features presented to kids in a fun way.
Who It’s For
The Dora the Explorer Dial & Learn Phone is for kids ages 3–6.
What To Be Aware Of
This includes three AA batteries for the in-store try-me purposes, and it's recommended that you replace them before you play for best results.
We did find that you have to press the buttons slowly when responding to the questions. For example, in Call My Friends, Dora asks kids to dial numbers in a certain order, and if you dial too fast, the machine doesn't recognize all the numbers and thinks the answer is incorrect.
This toy also plays a lot of music, which is nice, but can get annoying because you have to wait for the music to stop before you can continue playing or switch to a new mode.
