What It Is

Every Halloween, Lee and her younger siblings wait excitedly for the ghostly Hubknuckles to make an appearance at the edge of their yard. This year, Lee decides Hubknuckles isn't real and is simply her father in disguise. So, she bravely heads outside one night and quietly approaches Hubknuckles. After the two meet and do a quick and eerie dance, Lee returns to the house with quite a surprise. Both of her parents have been in the house the entire time and Hubknuckles is still floating at the edge of the woods!

Is It Fun?

Hubknuckles is based on the childhood experiences of the author and is a fantastic Halloween tale that is just spooky enough to delight and chill the kids. The black-and-white pencil and powdered graphite illustrations create the perfect setting for a cozy read-aloud book on a brisk fall evening.
