What It Is
The Field Agent Spy Watch is part of the Spy Gear line from Spin Master, with both functional and spy-ready features. To set the watch's time, date, and alarm features, toggle through the screen using the Mode button, which is located on the righthand side of the watch. The use the Set button, which is located on the lower righthand side of the watch, to set hour, minutes, second, year, month, etc. You can also press the Set button to flip through different time zones or hold the button for two seconds to activate Day Light Savings Time on the watch.
Convert this watch into your own motion-activated alarm by holding the Sensor button, which is located on the left side on the watch, for two seconds until the Sensor icon appears on the screen. Wait five seconds and the motion alarm will be activated. Then place the watch around a doorknob or on your bag and the minute it hits something the alarm will sound for five seconds and time stamp exactly when it was activated. You can see these time stamps by toggling through the Mode button to AL1 and AL2. Press and hold the sensor button to exit the mode.
The watch also features a night vision light and a secret decoder screen. Pass a sheet of the included special spy paper off to a friend, have them write a message, roll it up, place it in one of the two red capsules, and pass it back to you. Don't have time to read the message? Place it in one of the safe-drop slots on your watch to read later. Then pop it out and slide it under the red decoder screen, which flips up.
Is It Fun?
What we like about the Field Agent Spy Watch is that there is functionality to it while also being a fun toy for little spies to roleplay with. We think the motion-activated alarm is a particularly unique feature of the watch.
Who It’s For
The Spy Gear Field Agent Spy Watch is for ages 6 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
We had some difficulty switching between 12-hour and 24-hour (military) time. Be patient. When the watch is in 12-hour mode, the AM/PM signs will appear in the left corner of the time.
Write decoded messages in pencil on the spy paper in pencil. Colored and even black ink is more difficult to see under the decoder. We also suggest keeping messages brief and keep handwriting small, because the screen is small and a bit difficult to read through.
