What It Is
Give reading a tech twist with Sparkup The Magical Book Reader. This electronic reader will read almost any book to your child after you have recorded it using camera-sensing technology. Here's how it works:
Find a book from your personal collection. Clip the Sparkup to the back of the book. Close the book and hit the green button so the Sparkup can scan the front page of the book. Hit the record button to start recording your voice as you read the book. Make sure to give the camera time to scan each page before you start reading.
You can also connect the Sparkup to your computer to save your recorded books. You can also email your recordings to a child or grandchild who also has a Sparkup.
The Sparkup recognizes images using camera-sensing technology, which then prompts the reading of a particular page. For example, if your child skips a few pages, Sparkup will follow right along and read the next page your child has flipped to.
The Sparkup has storage capacity of four hours of audio with 240 MB.
Is It Fun?
The Sparkup is a great electronic reader for parents who travel as their recorded voice will comfort their children when they are away. It's also a great tool for beginner readers who will love to record their own voices. Grandparents and family members can also record favorite stories for their children and grandchildren to read along with.
