What It Is
Symphony in B is a musical toy that puts kids in charge of the musical arrangements to create their own variations on some popular music pieces. Kids can choose up to six instruments from the 13 included to put in the orchestra pit and hear them play together. They can also take instruments away and add others while the music plays. For example, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is played in a polka style by adding accordions and a tuba. There are 15 songs to choose from, including Beethoven's 5th, "The Wheels on the Bus", "Brahms' Lullaby", and more. Kids can also control the tempo and the volume of the songs.
To learn about the instruments and the sections they belong to (strings, percussion, woodwinds, etc.), press the related button on the toy and the coordinating instrument will light up.
The toy is also made of a see-through plastic, allowing kids to see all the workings of the toy. This is fun for curious kids who like to see how things work.
Is It Fun?
Overall, this is a great creative toy that teaches young kids about musical instruments and encourages them to create their own arrangements. Toys like this are great for promoting arts education in the home and getting kids interested in music.
Who It’s For
Symphony in B is for ages 3–13, but we think that older kids (6 and up) will get the most out of this toy because it is a little complicated for younger kids.
