What It Is
Talk about a Million Dollar Listing! The Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse Dreamhouse is one impressive piece of real estate. This pink palazzo stands more than three feet tall when it's assembled, and it comes fully furnished with more than 50 different pieces. Its spacious rooms can accommodate the glamorous lifestyle of Barbie and her friends, who must be acquired separately. This triple-mint mansion features three floors of luxurious living with all of the amenities associated with most exclusive properties. The top level has a lounge dressing area with a walk-in closet that can store even the most extensive wardrobe. The second level has the bedroom suite and an oversized bath. The ground floor has a state-of-the-art kitchen and a dining room for festive entertaining. The house has extensive features, lights, and sounds, such as a flushing toilet, singing in the shower sound effects, working chandelier, and doorbell. The house also has two elevators: one to move shoes and accessories from the bath to the closet and one for Barbie and her guests. The house is also adjustable to accommodate different play scenarios. And while it's never really easily stored, it does fold up a bit. But as with any real estate investment, location will be very important for long-term play. In other words, you need a lot of space for this.
Is It Fun?
This is a remarkable property that, once it's set up, will create a lot of opportunities for classic Barbie play. Kids will enjoy this stunning showplace, and it will help create lifelong memories that have always been associated with the Barbie Dreamhouse.
Who It’s For
The Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse Dreamhouse is for ages 3 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
Like every high-end property, this one has its challenges. And in this case, it's the instructions. Mattel even includes a sheet that tries to make fun of how complicated they are. In practice, though, that's not that funny. This took us nearly two hours to assemble, and at a couple of points, we were pretty sure that we'd acquired the Amityville Horror. Seriously. The pictures in the instructions are small and confusing. Stringing the elevators alone took a significant amount of time to figure out. We ultimately had to create our own solution. All we can say is be patient, set aside sufficient time, and keep trying.
The Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse Dreamhouse requires three AA batteries, which are not included.
