What It Is
Another Night at the Museum continues the nocturnal adventures of Larry the Night Watchman at New York City’s Museum of Natural History. This time around, Larry’s charged with watching the ocean exhibits. But Larry has a hard time staying awake while on the job and, sure enough, he dozes off. A phone call from his daughter wakes him up to find a city flooded because Larry forgot to shut off the bathtub before leaving for work. The flood sets the animals free and a crazy nautical adventure follows.
Is It Fun?
This book is just as much fun and as colorful as the original, first published in 1993 and aptly called Night at the Museum, which inspired two hit movies (Night at the Museum and Night at the Museum: The Battle of the Smithsonian). If you haven’t read the original, be sure to do so. Both books bring alive the wonderful fantasy of “what if...”
Who It’s For
The publisher lists a recommended age of five to nine, but I believe Another Night at the Museum is perfect for preschoolers and up.
What To Be Aware Of
This book sequel is NOT the same as the movie sequel, but it’s definitely worth checking out.
