What It Is

K'NEX has a new line of motorized building sets called Robo-Creatures that includes Robo-Sting, a robotic hornet. The set comes with 157 K'NEX parts, primarily rods and connectors, and a motor for mechanical movement. Once built, turn it on to watch Robo-Sting walk and flap its wings just like a hornet. The switch on the motor can make Robo-Sting move forward or backward. Kids can combine Robo-Sting with the other two Robo-Creatures building sets (Robo-Smash and Robo-Strike), which are sold separately, to create the ultimate robotic creature.

Is It Fun?

One of the things we like so much about K'NEX toys is that once they are built, they work really well and stay together well, too. The Robo-Sting is no exception. It's cool to watch the hornet walk back and forth and flap its wings. And kids will have a sense of accomplishment after building this model and then setting it in motion.

Who It’s For

Robo-Sting is for ages 7 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Two AA batteries are required but not included.

This set took us 30 minutes to assemble, so expect it to take your child between 30 and 60 minutes. No matter how long it takes to build, remember that building is part of the fun and play of K'NEX.
