What It Is

Winter hibernation was near, and Bear was getting sleepy. But, as the title hints, he had a story to tell. Bear finds his friend Mouse to relay the tale, but Mouse was busy gathering seeds and didn’t have time to listen. Bear’s other friends gave him a similar response. So, he went into hibernation without telling his story. Spring comes, and all the animals wake up, ready to hear Bear’s story. Well, wouldn’t you know, he forgot it! The book concludes with a very endearing display of friendship as Bear’s animal pals help him remember his story.

Is It Fun?

From the creators of the Caldecott Medal-winning book, A Sick Day for Amos McGee, is an equally charming tale with splendid illustrations. The author-illustrator duo of the Stead’s created another wonderful story that parents will love to read and children will love to hear. If you were a fan of Amos McGee, or even if you haven’t read it, Bear Has a Story to Tell is worth checking out.
