What It Is
Favorite books come to life in the Tales to Play line of games based on classic children's books. The games come in packaging that resembles a big book, and each game includes 3-D accessories and pawns in the shape of favorite characters.
In the Clifford the Big Red Dog Be a Good Friend Game, players collect bones and count up the most points to win. Take turns spinning the Clifford spinner and moving or taking bones, depending on what Clifford's tail points to. If the tail points to a colored space, move your dog pawn forward on the game board to the next space of that color. If that color is the same color as your dog bowl, take a bone and put it in your bowl.
If the tail points to a picture of Clifford, draw a card. If you draw a Clifford card, you lose one of your bones. If you draw a Cleo, T-Bone, Mac, or Mimi Card, you help the player with that character pawn by giving them a bone. Then you can take another for yourself.
When all the bones have been taken, the player with the most bones wins.
The game comes with four dog pawns (Cleo, T-Bone, Mac, and Mimi), a Clifford spinner, 25 bones, 24 cards, and a game board. It is for two to four players.
Is It Fun?
The Clifford the Big Red Dog Be a Good Friend Game is all about collecting and sharing bones. It encourages kids to share and play together. Because the game does end with a winner, there is still a bit of competitiveness to the game. The game also helps preschoolers with their color matching skills.
