- Codee from Techno Source
- We recommend this product for ages 7 and up
What It Is
With Codee, kids twist and turn plastic pieces to create an animal. Out of the package, Codee starts as a long string of linked together plastic pieces. Each of the numbered links has letters molded on the outside and a symbol on the connector inside. To create the animal pictured on the package, you have to twist and turn the links following a code that comes in the instruction sheet. For instance, to start the flamingo, the number one is the link number, the carrot is the symbol in the window on the connector, and the "T" is the letter touching the next link. Follow the code all the way through and you've created the animal. When you're done, add the accessories to complete your animal. You can also try to create your own characters. There are several different Codee animals to make, and each is sold separately.
Is It Fun?
Codee is most clearly defined as a fidget toy, something to fool around with, twist, and turn, and perhaps even create things. We think that this will appeal to kids who like puzzles and being creative and fiddling around to see what they can make. And that's really the essence of the play and the appeal of this toy.
Who It’s For
Codee is for ages 7 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
The company says there are more ideas at CodeeWorld.com, but that address took us to a promotional Facebook page. It will probably be updated later.
If you want to follow the codes molded in the links, make sure you're working in an area with bright light because the codes can be difficult to see. We also had a hard time getting the accessory pieces to stay in place.
