Everyone knows that Scrabble is a classic word game, and Boggle is a timed word game that has to do with cubes and making letters. Both games come together in the handheld Scrabble Boggle. The object is to find as many words as you can in the 4x4 letter grid. To win, you've got to be the player with the highest score at the end of a three-minute game or be the first player to reach the designated point limit in a tournament game.
To play, turn the lid clockwise to lower the grid base. Shake the letter cubes to mix them up. Turn the lid counterclockwise to close it up, and the timer light will flash on to begin the countdown. Players must then try to find words of three or more letters that adjoin in sequence horizontally, vertically, or diagonally in any direction. No letter cube may be used more than once in a single word. At the end of three minutes, the buzzer will go off and players earn points depending on how many words they found and the number of letters in each word. Just like in Boggle, if a word appears on more than one player's list, it must be crossed off all lists and no one gets credit for it.
Where Scrabble comes in is with bonus letters. Some letters on the cubes have a red square around them. If a player makes a word that uses this letter cube, they score double for that word.
Scrabble Boggle is for one or more players.
This is great for families and great for travel because it's all self-contained. For families and fans of Boggle, this is a great new way to play Boggle.
Scrabble Boggle is for ages 8 and up.
After you shake the letter cubes, it may take a couple seconds to get all the tiles to lie flat inside the game piece.
