What It Is
I See Me! books are personalized story books in a variety of themes. In the My Very Own Storybook and My Very Own Fairytales titles, a rhyming story unfolds with animals and other objects that start with each letter in a child’s name. By the end of the story, the child’s first and last name is completely spelled. The illustrations in each book are very engaging. And, the manner in which the story unfolds does not seem forced as can be the case with some of the other personalized books on the market. Newer titles are the Super, Incredible Big Sister or Super, Incredible Big Brother and use the child as the main character of the story. The names aren’t spelled out as in the first two titles, but the story is still very sweet.
Is It Fun?
I See Me! books make very special keepsakes. We received My Very Own Storybook when our daughter was a baby and it definitely helped her to learn to spell her name. Plus, she loved hearing a story about herself. The big sister/brother titles make adorable gifts for the toddler or preschool big sibling to be.
Who It’s For
I See Me! books are best for toddlers and preschoolers.
What To Be Aware Of
The books can only be purchased at www.iseeme.com and range in cost from $25-40. While TimeToPlay reviewed just a few titles, there are many available only in hardcover in a variety of themes, including holidays. The price is a bit high for a children’s picture book, but the personalization really makes them special and they are done so well that it’s well worth the money.
