What It Is

What It Is

Traditional bikes have been around for hundreds of years, but Zike has given the bicycle a radical new look. The Zike Saber is a combination of a BMX bike, a scooter, and a stair-stepper machine. It's designed to offer a lower body workout. The chain that drives the wheels is attached not to traditional pedals but pedals similar to those of stair stepper workout machines. Kids move their legs up and down on the pedals to keep the bike moving. There is no seat so you can't sit when you coast down hills like you would on a traditional bike. Riders are constantly in a standing position, holding onto the handlebars for support. The Saber features seven speeds and large air tires (a 20-inch front tire and 16-inch rear tire) with front and rear V-brakes. The Saber is available in 10 colors.

Why It’s Fun

The Zike Saber is a new take on the classic activity of riding a bike. The seven different speeds make it easy for beginners to start off slow and get the hang of riding the Saber because it is different than riding a traditional bike. It will take some practice to get the right balance and agility needed to ride the Saber, but for those who enjoy riding bikes, the Saber offers a new challenge, as well as a fun way to get exercise. Not to mention a superior core workout compared to a traditional bike.

Who It’s For

The Zike Saber is for ages 12 and up. It is a youth/adult model for riders under 200 pounds and most comfortable for those under six-feet tall.

What to Be Aware of

The Zike Saber is available at select Walgreens and specialty toy stores nationwide and online at

In order to ride the Saber up long and steep hills, drop the bike to first gear.

The Saber is for outdoor recreation and transportation. Always wear a helmet when riding the Saber.

There are other models of Zikes that can support older and heavier riders.
