What It Is

What It Is

The iconic Nerf brand from Hasbro gets a new blaster experience with the Vortex line. Vortex offers Nerf fans the latest in blaster technology and performance, along with a greater blaster variety. The Nerf Vortex line shoots plastic discs and uses something Hasbro calls XLR Technology, or extra long-range disc technology, that hurls discs super long distances, as compared to foam dart blasters.

One of the first blasters in the Vortex line is the Vigilon. This blaster offers rapid-reload capabilities and features a built-in disc clip. Simply release the drop-down clip with the push of a button, place in up to five Vortex discs, and activate the pullback mechanism to fire. Five discs are included, and additional discs can be purchased. The Vigilon is also compatible with the Nerf Tactical Rail System and most Nerf N-Strike accessories, each sold separately.

Why It’s Fun

Hasbro has taken a classic boys' play pattern and given it a new twist. Instead of foam darts, the Vortex blasters shoot plastic discs. When we played with this, we were able to shoot the discs 30 feet. Boys will like the long-distance shooting and how easy it is to load and use the Vigilon blaster.

Who It’s For

The Vigilon blaster is for ages 8 and up.

What to Be Aware of

Only use the discs designed for the Vortex blasters. Don't aim the discs at people's faces or eyes.
