What It Is
Each of the four games in Tara Toy's collection of Scholastic Bingo games is designed to help kids with a different learning skill: rhyming, basic word recognition, time-telling, or coin recognition and addition. Each game is sold separately.
In Scholastic Rhyming Bingo, players must match images on their Bingo cards that rhyme with the called word. The first player to get four in a row wins. The game comes with four double-sided Bingo cards, 20 rhyming call cards, 35 Bingo marker chips, and a call sheet to keep track of what words have been called.
In Scholastic Sight Words Bingo, players try to be the first with four in a row by matching sight words on their Bingo cards with the called sight words. The game comes with four double-sided Bingo cards, 48 sight word call cards, 35 Bingo marker chips, and a call sheet.
In Scholastic Telling Time Bingo, players match clock images on their Bingo cards that show the time that was called. The first player to match three in a row wins. The game comes with four double-sided Bingo cards, 24 time-of-day call cards, 35 Bingo marker chips, and a call sheet.
In Scholastic Money Bingo, players match images of coins on their Bingo cards that show the called monetary value. The first player with three in a row wins. The game comes with four double-sided Bingo cards, 18 money value call cards, 35 Bingo marker chips, and a call sheet.
Is It Fun?
These Bingo games make the learning process a little more fun and engaging for young kids. We also like that these games are more than just matching a picture to a picture or a number to a number. Kids are required to make an association between a word and a picture or a dollar amount and what that looks like in coins. It really gets them using their brains.
Who It’s For
The Scholastic Bingo games are for ages 3 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
The game instructions don't say how many players you need to play, but you'll need at least two players and no more than four players. An adult will probably need to play along to act as the Bingo caller.
