EDITOR'S REVIEW

Overall Editor's Rating

What It Is

Phoebe and Her Unicorn: A Heavenly Nostrils Chronicle is a 224-page comic book collection of the Heavenly Nostrils comic strip by Dana Simpson. The comic follows the adventures of 9-year-old Phoebe and her best friend and unicorn Marigold Heavenly Nostrils. They met one day when Phoebe was skipping rocks and accidentally hit the unicorn in the face. The unicorn then granted Phoebe one wish, and Phoebe wished for the unicorn to be her best friend. The back of the book has a More to Explore! section with different unicorn-themed activities for kids to complete, including learning to draw Phoebe and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils.

Is It Fun?

This is a really cute book that is cleverly written. It's got a bit of magic to it while at the same time being very relatable to girls who are also dealing with some of the same things as Phoebe. Because it's written in comic strip-style, it's a great way to get reluctant readers interested in reading.

Who It’s For

Phoebe and Her Unicorn is for ages 8-12.
