What It Is

The BOOMco. Farshot Blaster is single-shot blaster that is part of Mattel's new line of BOOMco. blasters. This comes with three plastic sticky-tipped darts that stick to the included target. Just load a dart, pull back all the way on the handle, and press the trigger to fire. You can shoot at the target, but if you're in a blaster battle, flip up the Smart Stick shields and your opponent's darts will stick to your blaster's shields.

Is It Fun?

This blaster may only shoot one dart at a time and be smaller than the other BOOMco. blasters, but it does shoot 70 feet, which is farther than some of the other BOOMco. blasters we've played with, and the shooting is extremely accurate, even from long distances.

Who It’s For

The BOOMco. Farshot Blaster is for ages 6 and up. We think that some 6-year-olds may have trouble pulling back on the blaster's handle because it does require a bit of strength, but older kids (7 or 8 and up) will find it easier.

What To Be Aware Of

The instructions state not to stick the target to walls or furniture, which sort of presents a problem because where are you supposed to stick it to play? Removing the sticker from a wall can also remove the paint, so we recommend either sticking the target to a unfinished basement wall you don't care much about or just leaving the backing on and adhering the sticker to a wall using 3M strips or painter's tape.

As with all blasters, don't aim at the eyes or faces of people or pets

To clean the darts so they don't lose their stickiness, rinse their tips with tap water or use tape to remove excess debris.
