What It Is
The Beados Quick Dry Design Station is an all-in-one kit for creating fun designs out of beads and water. The kit comes with 500 beads, a bead storage tray, a tweezer pen, two display trays, six design templates, a spray bottle, and a quick-dry fan. Pick the template you want to use and place it on the back of one of the display trays. Use the tweezer pen to pick up the beads and place them in their appropriate spots as determined by the template. When you've finished adding beads, spray your design with water four to five times. Place the display tray under the quick-dry fan and turn on the fan to dry your design for five to 10 minutes. Slowly peel your design away from the tray, and display your design using the provided stands and suction cups. If you want to make your design stronger, it's recommended that you spray the back of the finished design and let it dry overnight.
Is It Fun?
The templates in this playset let kids make some really cute designs out of only beads and water. The beads aren't too tiny, but the tweezer pen really does make it easier than using your hands to pick up the beads and place them on the tray. The templates are a great starting point, however, they're really more of a guide to making the shape, and kids can use whatever color beads they want. Kids can even get creative and make up their own designs.
Who It’s For
The Beados Quick Dry Design Station is for ages 4 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
Two AA batteries are required but not included.
We wish the tray was clear and not purple because the purple coloring makes it hard to see the colors of the template. We almost completely missed the white bead spots, and the red and pink spots looked too similar when viewed under the tray.
It also took our designs about 20 minutes to dry. After 10 minutes, the beads felt dry but they were not sticking together well. Even after 20 minutes, we still had to be really careful when peeling off the design, and we would definitely recommend spraying the back of your design with water and letting it dry to really make it sturdy.
