What It Is

How to Be a Pirate is a 24-page Little Golden Book by Sue Fliess that, through a funny, rhyming story, shows kids how to earn their sea legs on a pirate ship with some very goofy pirates as their guide. With a silly tone, the book explains what to say, what to wear, and what to do for kids to become pirates themselves. From "Yo-ho-ho!" to eye patches and treasures, all pirate bases are covered, even saying farewell to baths and brushing your teeth. Each of the 24 pages features colorful illustrations by Nikki Dyson.

Is It Fun?

How to Be a Pirate is an entertaining, fun book that would be great for boys and girls. The illustrations have a slightly vintage look to them, just like the Little Golden Books parents might remember reading when they were kids.
