What It Is
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft from Blizzard Entertainment is a digital, card-battling game set in the Warcraft universe. You play as a Warcraft hero, get dealt cards, and then battle against another hero. It's a turn-based battle that relies on strategically playing your cards to balance your defenses while attacking your opponent and trying to reduce their HP to 0. Each character-based card has its own stats and requires a specific number of Mana to play it. You can play as many cards as you want in each turn as long as you have enough Mana Crystals.
Is It Fun?
Hearthstone is simple, which makes it easy to quickly get pulled in and addicted. The strategy in deciding what cards to play and when to play them is what makes this game so much fun.
Who It’s For
The app is rated ages 12 and up on the App Store. We think kids as young as 10 can play and fans of Warcraft at any age will probably enjoy it.
What To Be Aware Of
You start off training by playing multiple games against a computer. After that, you are matched up with other real players of the game.
The game is a free download with In-App Purchases available. You don't have to spend money to enjoy this game but might find yourself wanting to buy some special cards when you see what other players have.
Hearthstone is currently available for iOS devices and has been designed for both iPhone and iPad. An Android edition in the works.
Your device must be connected to internet to play.
Since you are playing against real players, no two games are ever the same, which makes this a great one to repeatedly pick up and play.
