Sensory processing disorder, SPD, is a neurological disorder causing difficulties with taking in, processing and responding to both internal and external sensory information about the environment. It may also be known as Sensory Integration Dysfunction or SID. The following toys can be used to help children overcome their aversions to certain sensory objects. Additionally, these toys are also excellent for those children who crave extra sensory input.
